Headquartered in the Gardens of the National Palace of Queluz and with regular presentations in the Henrique Calado Riding Ring, on Calçada da Ajuda (Belém), the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art stands out as national heritage and endowed with the objective of promoting the teaching, practice and global dissemination of traditional Portuguese equestrian art.To understand this unique cultural heritage, we suggest a morning focusing on Equestrian Art. Start with a look behind the scenes, see how the handlers care for the horses and, at Henrique Calado Riding Ring, watch the warm-up and agility exercises performed by riders dressed in period costumes who, respecting the rhythm, health and physical needs of each horse, ensure the appropriate training for the high level of the galas and shows of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. The thematic route identifies the various points of interest, allowing you to get immersed in the musical chords, to watch the training and rehearsals in preparation for the exercises and choreographies of Equestrian Art that recreate the enchanting atmosphere of the Portuguese court of the 18th century, both in the Páteo da Nora and in the Henrique Calado Riding Arena.

Tasting Menu at VISTA

Horaires : 07:30 PM

VISTA is the restaurant at the BELA VISTA Hotel & Spa, one of the first hotels in the Algarve, which has been open in Portimão since 1934. The restaurant was created in 2011 during the renovation of this historic palace, but it was in 2015 that chef João Oliveira changed its course. With a solid track record, João has carved out a path of detail, a close relationship with the Algarve, the foundation of a cohesive team and a focus on consistency. This search for a Portuguese and regional identity with a solid connection to the sea and sustainability brought VISTA its first Michelin Star in November 2017. Since then, the team has consolidated the journey, culminating in a very distinctive language, transmitted through two tasting menus: VISTA, focused on bivalves, crustaceans and fish from the Algarve coast and TERRA, vegetarian or vegan, devoted to organic vegetables from the region. In 2024, the restaurant’s dining room reponed with a renewed face, fresher and more contemporary, and always facing the sea – both from the view and at the table.
